About Lakeland Art Gallery

Organized in 1957 by a group of local artists under the instruction of Warsaw High School art teacher Fred Olds, the Lakeland Art Association has been a cornerstone of the visual arts community in Warsaw, Indiana, ever since. The first art gallery was opened under the direction of Lila O’Connell, and the organization was designated as a nonprofit in 1996.  Now operating as the Lakeland Art Gallery, we continue to expand our impact and dedication to promoting the visual arts through education, exhibitions, and community engagement.​

In March 2025, the gallery celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of its new location at 119 S. Buffalo Street in downtown Warsaw. The new venue offers expanded gallery space, a dedicated classroom, and improved accessibility. The gallery showcases a diverse range of artwork from local and regional artists. Need a special gift for a friend or family member?  One-of-a-kind, original artwork is available for sale.

The Lakeland Art Gallery serves as a vibrant hub for artists and art enthusiasts. In addition to exhibitions, the gallery provides art classes and workshops for all skill levels, covering various mediums such as painting, pottery, jewelry, and photography. These programs aim to nurture creativity and provide learning opportunities for both aspiring and established artists.​

The organization also maintains a permanent collection featuring works by notable artists, including Mary Alice Estep, Allae W. Garard, and Fred Olds. Through its exhibitions, educational programs, and community events, the Lakeland Art Gallery continues to enrich the cultural landscape of Kosciusko County.​
